Things are changing across the continent of Africa. Development is happening quickly in some places, slowly in others, and in others still, infrastructure is well established.
Economies continent wide are changing from resource based to knowledge based, and there is growing interest/incentive to get to know and have a better understanding of the different regions and ways of thinking of the people on the vast continent on a deeper level. This is only one area of the world that is largely misunderstood, where portrayals tend to be littered with stereotypes.
The Digital Docu-series 'JANU with Eposi' is the action behind the desire many Africans in the Diaspora, Africans on the ground & African-Americans have - to see more well-rounded depictions of the 50 + countries on the continent in motion pictures/on film. EPLLESEED will focus production on the continent, but will be inclusive of other countries around the world that may often get stymied with onscreen depiction.
Eposi Litombo is a Video/Film Producer and Creator of Indie film production company EPLLESEED.
"I sometimes think of the continent of Africa as a stunningly beautiful woman not fully aware of the extent of her Beauty, Power & Influence. I hope my first project helps wake more of us who were born there/connected in any way, to appreciate the Startling Wonders in our own backyard/place of origin."
A love for storytelling and a heart for traveling to experience other cultures are some of Eposi's strongest influences.
Out of the frustration at constantly seeing narrow minded narratives of her continent of origin, and being discontent with only discussing the problem, Eposi set out to add more context to narratives about the Continent of Africa and other developing countries around the world.
Eposi lives & works in the United States, and travels to each location per episode.
